Friesen and Rempel win opener at Canada Summer Games

Saskatchewan’s men’s volleyball team swept their opening match at the 2017 Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg Monday.

Swift Current’s Braedon Friesen and Henry Rempel are both members of Team Saskatchewan. They defeated Team Nova Scotia 25-22, 25-20, and 25-17 to open the tournament.

Saskatchewan will be back on the court Tuesday for matches against British Columbia and Prince Edward Island.

Swift Current’s Tobi Ojo played in the midfield for Saskatchewan’s men’s soccer team as they tied British Columbia 1-1 in their opening game Monday.

Team Saskatchewan will continue the round robin on Tuesday against Nova Scotia.
