Swift Current athletes headed to Canada Summer Games

An impressive list of Swift Current athletes will represent Saskatchewan at the 2017 Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg from July 28 – August 13.

Swift Current’s Tobi Ojo will represent his province in men’s soccer. Team Saskatchewan has been grouped with British Columbia and Nova Scotia. They will open the tournament on August 7 against Team British Columbia.

Also headed to the games are Swift Current’s Aleah Nickel  and Austin Shopa in wrestling, which will take place on August 9-11.

Swift Current will be represented by Jenae Reutz, Tyler Piercy-Servant, and coach Jackie Powell in swimming on August 7-11.

Braedon Friesen and Henry Rempel are both a part of Team Saskatchewan’s U18 men’s volleyball team that will compete in Winnipeg. They will open the tournament on August 7 against Team Nova Scotia.

Logan Fritzke rounds out the list of Swift Current athletes headed to Winnipeg. The infielder will be a part of Team Saskatchewan’s men’s baseball team when they open the tournament on Saturday against Quebec.
