The Toronto Marlies announced on Twitter Monday that they had signed Swift Current Broncos netminder Jordan Papirny to an amateur tryout contract.
The graduating goaltender helped lead the Broncos to the second round of the Western Hockey League playoffs with a 2.48 goals against average and 0.935 save percentage in 14 playoff games. After being acquired from the Brandon Wheat Kings at the trade deadline, the Edmonton product finished his career with a 40-22-1 playoff record over four full seasons. He had a 119-60-13-9 record over 205 regular season appearances, as well as a 2.93 GAA and a 0.907 save percentage.
The Marlies are the American Hockey League affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League. They are currently facing the Albany Devils in the Calder Cup Playoffs.
