The Swift Current Service Master Broncos lost game one of the Saskatchewan U13 AA Hockey League South Final 4-3 to the host Regina Buffalos on Wednesday.
The two teams combined for six goals in the first period, including shorthanded goals from the Broncos’ Dane Bender and Jack Tsougrianis 10 seconds apart. Jesse Struch scored the only goal of the third period to lift the Buffalos to the win.
Burk Hargrave had a goal and an assist for the Broncos. Lincoln Wilson, Hope Hunter, and Ethan Lloyd all added assists. Luc Brisebois made 29 saves on 33 shots.
Cohen Ormiston made 25 saves for the home team.
Game two of the best-of-three series will be Saturday at 3:15 p.m. at S3 West Arena.
