World-class curling returning to Swift Current this week

Curling fans in the Southwest will get one final blast of world-class curling at the Speedy Creek Shootout from Friday until Sunday. 

Half of the field that will be competing in the BKT World Men’s Championship in Moose Jaw will be in Swift Current for the tune-up event. 

The 18-team field begins action on Thursday at 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Friday will feature four draws, beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday will also include four draws beginning at 9 a.m. The playoffs will begin Sunday at 9 a.m. and will conclude at 3:30 p.m.

Highlighting the field will be five-time world champion and defending Olympic champion Niklas Edin. 

Day passes are available for $20 and full event passes are $40 from the Swift Current Curling Club.
