The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires returned to Saskatchewan Male U18 AAA Hockey League action on Thursday. They led 3-0 before allowing five unanswered goals in the 5-3 loss to the host Saskatoon Blazers.
Trae Peterson and Hunter Wilm scored for a 2-0 Legionnaires lead after one period.
Triston Mitchell-Mcelhone added a power play goal in the second period to make a 3-0. The Contacts scored five consecutive goals to clinch the win. Blake Chorney scored three of those goals, while Kash Ringdal and Tyson Medernach also tallied.
Wesley Olson had two assists for the Legionnaires. Jake Hargrave, Peterson, Sam Kirwan, and Jackson Fox also had assists.
Cade Mitchell took the loss with 28 saves. Reid Wasserman made 26 saves in the win.
The Legionnaires fell to 19-7-0, while the Blazers improved to 15-6-2.
The Legionnaires will return to Saskatoon on Thursday to visit the Contacts.
