The City of Swift Current wishes to advise residents and motorists that construction season is soon underway, with the annual paving and sidewalk program, spot repair work, and various other projects. Please be aware of periodic traffic restrictions that will arise to accommodate the work.
When traffic is impacted significantly in an area, the City will advise with additional news releases, social media posts, and notices to Emergency Medical Services. For up-to-date progress on the program, residents can review the Construction Updates page on the City’s website at www.swiftcurrent.ca/construction.
“Just in general, it’s important to raise awareness so that people are prepared for construction zones. Traffic can be affected, which can cause a bit of delay or confusion at times, but there will be signage to guide people through the construction,” explains Greg Parsons, General Manager of Infrastructure.
