The Swift Current Innovation Federal Credit Union Wildcats split a weekend road trip in Prince Albert against the Northern Bears.
Saturday, the Wildcats scored the only two goals of the third period to defeat the Bears 4-2. Jade Thompson scored twice, including the game winner on the power play.
Alexie Palchinski and Kaylee Williams both added a goal and an assist. Reece Hawkins, Mardi Wagner, Kyla Benjamin, Taylre Becker, Evangeline Hill, and Raela Packet all added assists. Paige Fischer earned the win with 23 saves.
Kinley Brassard and Tristyn Endicott scored for the Bears. Nikita Krayetski made 20 saves on 24 shots.
Sunday, the Wildcats led 2-0 in the first period before allowing six unanswered goals in a 6-2 loss.
Cydny Price and Benjamin scored in a losing cause with assists from Reese Kampen, Mardi Wagner, and Palchinski. Fischer took the loss with 27 saves on 33 shots.
Julia Cey notched a hat trick for the Bears, followed by singles from Marly Dumanski, Brassard, and Elizabeth Udell. Krayetski made 27 saves on 29 shots.
The Wildcats sat fifth in the Saskatchewan Female U18 AAA Hockey League with an 8-15-2-3 record.
The Wildcats will wrap up the regular season on Sunday when they visit the Battlefords Sharks.
