The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires lost their opening game 6-2 to the Yale Lions on Wednesday at the Circle K Classic in Calgary.
Wesley Olson and Jace Egland scored in a losing cause with assists from Tristan McElhone, Keegan Nash, Camron Soulsby, and Kai Packet. Berney Weston made 31 saves as the Legionnaires were outshot 37-15.
They finished zero-for-six on the power play, while the Lions scored once on three man-advantages.
The Legionnaires will face the Calgary Buffaloes on Thursday.
