The Swift Current Comp. High School Senior Ardens basketball team will host their second Pink Game on Thursday, March 9 when they will face the North Battleford Comp. Vikings at 6 p.m. at the SCCHS Gymnasium.
The Ardens are raising money for the Nelson family, who recently lost a wife and mother to cancer. Rena Best passed away on January 25 after battling stage 4 colon cancer for two years. She was an SCCHS alumni and managed the 1985 Ardens provincial basketball championship team. Rena left behind two young children and all the proceeds from the Pink Game will be going towards their trust fund.
The evening will get underway at 5 p.m. with tailgating, including face painting, a concession, and a limited opportunity to buy t-shirts.
Admission for the game will be $2 for students and $5 for adults. There will also be a raffle table with prizes to be won throughout the game.
The team is hoping for the community to come out and support not only the Ardens, but also the Nelson family.
