A pair of Southwest golfers placed second at a Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour event at Deer Valley Golf & Estates on June 24-25.
Kyle’s Chloe Wills placed second in the 15-19 Girls Division. She sat third after an opening round 86. Wills improved by five strokes for an 81 on day two to pass Payton Oakden for second. Regina’s Hallie Crozier won the division by 17 strokes (74-76).
Swift Current’s Niya Friesen placed fourth. She carded a 90 on day one and followed up with a 95 in her second round.
Swift Current’s Ryder Woods placed second in the 25-golfer field in the Juvenile Boys Division. He shot an 83 on day one but stormed back with a 75 on Sunday to finish three shots back of Saskatoon’s Jack Maharaj.
Swift Current’s Ayden Ross tied for 15th in Juvenile Boys with rounds of 86 and 91.
Swift Current’s Max Gehl finished in seventh in the Peewee Boys Division. He shot a 108 on day one and improved by 15 strokes for a 93 on day two.
Kyle’s Jace Wills placed eighth out of 20 golfers in the Bantam Boys Division. He shot an 83 on day one and followed up with an 86 on Sunday.
Swift Current’s Kadyn Olfert was 12th with identical rounds of 91 on both days.
The MJT returns to Saskatchewan on July 24-25 at Moon Lake Golf and Country Club in Saskatoon.
