The City of Swift Current, in partnership with the Swift Current & District Farmers’ Market Association, is pleased to announce that the Market Square season begins Saturday, June 17th, and continues every Saturday through September 23rd from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM, rain or shine.
“Market Square – presented by Plewis Automotive Group – is the heartbeat of summer in Swift Current and surrounding area. The connections and memories made just by enjoying the leisurely stroll in our beautiful downtown on a summer day, hearing the local bands playing on stage, trying delicious new foods from street vendors, buying fresh produce or unique homemade goods, are priceless,” states Chief Administrative Officer, Jim Jones.
Marlene Johnson, of the City of Swift Current, has tirelessly coordinated the weekly event from its very humble beginnings. She is a familiar face and voice to all vendors, partners, musicians, and sponsors. “Market Square is the highlight of our summer in Swift Current,” explains Johnson. “Over the years, I’ve enjoyed watching the event grow and evolve, always becoming bigger and better. And I’ve loved making new connections and creating opportunities for vendors at the market.”
