Aleah Nickel won bronze at the 2023 Canadian Wrestling Championships in Waterloo, ON earlier this month.
The Swift Current product won three of four matches to place third in the Senior Women 62 Kilogram Division.
Nickel won her opening match by fall in 1:24 over Jonelle Clarke of London-Western WC.
She lost the semi-final by tech fall to Ana Godinez Gonzalez of the Burnaby Mountain WC. Godinez Gonzalez was the 2022 Pan American champion and went on to win Nationals with a 10-0 win in the final.
Nickel rebounded with a 40-second win over Jessica Tilmanns of Brock WC.
Nickel won her next match by fall in 50 seconds over Laurence Beauregard of Montreal NTC to place third.
