The Swift Current WW Smith Wildcats advanced in the Saskatchewan Female U13 Hockey League playoffs with a 4-1 win over the visiting Weyburn Gold Wings in the third and deciding game on Wednesday.
The Wildcats opened the game with three straight power play goals to take control of the must-win contest. Kapri Darby led the Wildcats with two goals and one assist, while Blakely Wallis and Laynee Rondeau also scored. Macklin Connor, Deyus Getzinger, Avery Whitney, and Ally Stusrud all added assists and Georgia Haubrich earned the win in goal.
The Wildcats will now face the top seeded Western Prairie Thunder in the South Division final. Game one is Thursday at 5:15 p.m. at S3 East Arena.
Game two will be Saturday in Kindersley, while game three would be Sunday in Kindersley if necessary.
