Eight members of the Gelico Gymnastics Club recently competed at the Calico Competition in Humboldt.
Among the gymnasts in Level Three action were Clarissa Groenewald, Yujin Kim and Paitlyn Reimer.
Groenewald was fourth All Around with a 35.475 total. Kim placed ninth All Around with a 33.75 and Reimer was 10th with a 33.50 score.
Groenewald’s top event was Floor with a score of 9.025 to place third. She was also sixth on the Beam with an 8.875. Groenewald also scored 8.475 on Uneven Bars and 9.100 on Vault.
Kim scored 8.35 on Floor, 8.275 on Uneven Bars, 8.70 on Vault, and 8.425 on Beam.
Reimer was sixth on Floor with a score of 8.45. She also scored 8.125 on Uneven Bars, 8.40 on Vault, and 8.05 on Beam.
Jacey Fauser and Leya Hunter represented Gelico in Xcel Gold. Fauser’s top result was fourth on the Floor with a score of 9.275. She also scored 8.90 on Uneven Bars, 8.25 on Vault, and 8.225 on Beam.
Hunter was seventh on Floor with a 9.175 score. She scored 8.35 on Uneven Bars, 8.225 on Vault, and 7.725 on Beam.
Breanna Dyck and Kayden Meyer competed in the Xcel Gold Division. Meyer was seventh All Around with a 35.80 score. She tied for third on the Uneven Bars with a 9.275. She was also sixth in Vault with an 8.90 and sixth on the Beam with an 8.975. She added an 8.725 on the Floor.
Dyck had an All Around score of 34.30. Her best result was a tie for fourth on the Beam with a 9.00. She also scored 8.65 on Floor, 8.475 on Uneven Bars, and 8.10 on Vault.
Ashlyn Meyer was the lone Gelico competitor at the Xcel Platinum Level. She finished third overall with a 34.90 All Around score. She tied for first on the Beam with an 8.80 score. She was second on Uneven Bars with an 8.75 score. Ashlynn Meyer was also tied for third in Floor (9.10) and fourth in Vault (8.25).
