SCCHS Colts host home tournament

The Swift Current Comp. Senior Colts basketball team hosted the eight-team Doug Armstrong Memorial Invitational Tournament over the weekend, winning once in three outings.

The Colts dropped their opening game 98-64 to the North Battleford Vikings on Friday. Duncan Gevana led the Colts with 11 points, followed by 10 points from Harit Desai.

The Colts lost their second game 73-63 to the Grenall Griffins on Saturday morning. Isaac Froese led the Colts with 11 points and Makstr McIntyre added 10 points.

The Colts went out on a winning note with a 92-64 over the Prince Albert Carlton Crusaders B squad. The Colts trailed by two points at halftime before scoring 26 points in the third quarter and another 25 in the fourth quarter. Gevana led the Colts with 22 points and Thad Holliday chipped in 10 points.

The Colts’ (4-7) next action will be Feb. 3-4 in Estevan.
