The Swift Current U15 Sonic had a successful second weekend of play in the Softball Saskatchewan U15B League.
The Sonic travelled to Macklin where they would start the first of three games Saturday against the hometown Macklin Lakers. The Sonic had a 7-3 lead after three innings before the offense came alive, scoring seven runs in both the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings to close out a 22-7 win.
The second game of the day saw the Sonic play the Prince Albert Aces. The Sonic offense was on display early with back-to-back seven-run innings to start the game, which propelled the Sonic to a 23-3 victory.
The final game of the day was against the Parkland Predators. Two big innings, a five-run first inning and a seven-run fifth inning, helped the Sonic cruise to a 17-4 victory.
The next action for the U15 Sonic is this weekend when they travel to Kindersley in preparation for the U15B Softball Saskatchewan Championship on July 8-10 in Saskatoon.
The Sonic improved their overall record to 8-2-1 this season.
