Lowry to represent Canada at World Championship

Former Swift Current Broncos captain Adam Lowry will represent Canada at the 2022 IIHF Men’s World Hockey Championship in Finland.

The 6’5’’ forward registered 13 goals, eight assists, and 59 penalty minutes in 79 games with the Winnipeg Jets this season.

The 29-year-old Lowry now has 168 points in 539 NHL games with the Jets over eight seasons. He also has 13 points in 39 career playoff games.

Lowry played four seasons in the Swift Current, captaining the Broncos in 2012-13 when he totaled 45 goals and 43 assists in 72 games to capture the Four Broncos Memorial Trophy as WHL Player of the Year.

Canada will open the tournament on Friday against Germany.
