Murdoch named Player of the Week

Ethan Murdoch has gotten off to a dream start to his collegiate baseball career with the McCook Community College Indians.

The Swift Current native was named the Region IX Player of the Week as the Empire League’s to players.

Murdoch hit four home runs in 10 at bats as MCC finished 2-1 against Northeastern Junior College. He finished the series with a .500 average, four runs batted in, and four runs scored. He opened the series with two home runs on Sunday and then cleared the fence in both games on Monday.

Murdoch currently boasts a .304 average, .459 on-base percentage, and an .739 slugging percentage on the season. He has 16 RBI, five doubles, and five home runs in 14 games.

MCC (7-7) will host Trinidad State College for four games this weekend.
