Davies lifts Broncos to overtime win in Prince Albert

Josh Davies scored midway through overtime to lift the Swift Current Broncos to their second straight road win following a nine-game road losing streak.

The sophomore forward scored on a breakaway shot to clinch a 5-4 win for the Broncos over the host Prince Albert Raiders with his sixth goal of the season.

The Broncos had led 3-0 and 4-1 before the Raiders forced overtime with three unanswered goals.

Caleb Wyrostok, Grayson Burzynski with his first WHL goal, and Sam McGinley scored to put the Broncos up 3-0. Sloan Stanick replied for the Raiders before Owen Pickering restored the three-goal lead.

Ozzy Wiesblatt, Carson Latimer, and Cale Sanders all scored for the Raiders to force overtime.

Reid Dyck made 31 saves for the Broncos in his second win of the season. Tikhon Chaika allowed four goals on 14 shots over 30:21 for Prince Albert. Carter Serhyenko stopped 13 of 14 shots over the final 31:50.

The Broncos are now 2-2-0-1 in games decided after 60 minutes. The Broncos moved into seventh spot in the Eastern Conference with a 10-12-2-1 record. The Raiders improved to 9-12-1-1, three points back of the Broncos in ninth spot.

The Broncos will host the Moose Jaw Warriors on Friday in their annual Teddy Bear Toss game.
