U18 AA Broncos upend Capitals in overtime

The Swift Current Abbey Resources Broncos handed the Regina Capitals their first loss of the season during a two-game home stand in the Saskatchewan U18 AA Hockey League over the weekend.

Friday, the Broncos lost 5-1 to the visiting Capitals. Carson Sabine scored the only goal with assists from Wyatt Mokelki and Ben Patenaude. Cade Doane took the loss with 30 saves on 35 shots.

Saturday, Hunter Arntsen stopped all 46 shots he faced to defeat the Regina Capitals 1-0. Austin Calkins scored 2:02 into overtime with assists from Kane Klassen and Mason Osinski. Jordan Weatherall took the loss with 27 saves for the Capitals.

The Broncos (8-6-1-0) will visit the Notre Dame Hounds on Monday. They will also host the Moose Jaw Warriors on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Fairview West Arena.
