The Swift Current Comp. Colts senior boys volleyball team won gold at the 10-team Centennial Volleyball Challenge in Saskatoon over the weekend for their fifth straight tournament title
On Friday in pool play, the Colts were 3-1 and won pool B with victories over Prince Albert Carlton (25-19, 25-22), Saskatoon Holy Cross (25-22, 25-19), and Saskatoon Centennial (25-18, 25-14) and a split with Meadow Lake (26-24, 19-25).
On Saturday, the Colts defeated Saskatoon Aden Bowman (25-9, 25-10) in the quarter-final and the Centennial Chargers (25-20, 25-18) in the semi-final.
The Colts faced off against Saskatoon St. Joseph in the championship match and won in three games. They dropped the opening game 25-27 before responding with 25-14 and 15-10 wins.
The Colts will return to action on October 29 in Regina.
