United teams battle Rattlers in Medicine Hat

Six Swift Current United Soccer Club teams battled the host Medicine Hat Rattlers Academy Soccer Club on August 21-22.

Six Swift Current United Soccer Club teams had their hands full against the host Medicine Hat Rattlers Academy Soccer Club on August 21-22.

The Under 9 United Boys were soundly defeated in both games on Saturday.

The U11 United Girls lost a pair of close games on Saturday. They dropped their opener 4-3 on goals from Jodi Switzer, Piper Arntsen, and Mackenna Striker. They fell 4-2 in the rematch on goals from Laynee Rondeau and Mackenna Striker.

The U11 United Boys also lost a pair of close games by 3-2 and 2-1 margins. Camden Newton, Petro Kalousis, and Ari Parmar all found the back of the net.

The U13 United Boys lost their opening game 7-2 on goals from Griffin Striker and Will Hokhold. They fell 8-2 in the rematch on goals from Tristen Perrin and Heer Ramtohul.

A combined U13/15 United Girls team ended up on the opposite side of two lopsided games. They won the opener 5-1 when striker Katie Johnston exploded for four goals and Elizabeth Metke added a single. They fell 13-1 to an older Rattlers squad in the second game. Dani Meyer had the lone goal in the losing cause.

The U13/15 Boys were the only team in action on Sunday and dropped both games by 4-2 and 5-0 margins. Luke Harll and Zachary Kielo scored for Swift Current.
