Kole Lind will have a new professional home next season. The Shaunavon product was selected by the Seattle Kraken in the Expansion Draft on Wednesday.

Lind, 22, made his National Hockey League debut this past season, appearing in seven games with the Vancouver Canucks. He also posted eight points in as many games with the Utica Comets in the American Hockey League during his third professional season after being selected 33rd overall by the Canucks in 2017.

The expansion Kraken selected 30 players, including Jordan Eberle from the New York Islanders, Adam Larsson from the Edmonton Oilers, and Mark Giordano from the Calgary Flames.

The Kraken will open the 2021-22 NHL regular season on October against the host Vegas Golden Knights. Lind may not have to wait long to face his former team as the Kraken host the Canucks for their home opener on October 23 at Climate Pledge Arena.
