Sonic score 63 runs in two home games

The U14 Sonic won two lopsided games at the Swift Current Recreation Complex on Saturday against the Moose Jaw Ice and the Kindersley Royals. 

In the morning game against the Moose Jaw Ice the Sonic offense was on display early as they scored 14 runs in the first three innings to jump out to a commanding 14-0 lead.  Pitchers Abbey Arntsen and Bree Pavely kept the Ice scoreless through the first four innings, helping the Sonic to a 28-5 victory.

In their afternoon game against the Kindersley Royals the Sonic offense was again on display in a 35-3 win.

The Sonic were led offensively with four-hit performances by Arntsen and Brynn Watts. Sami Wandler and Riley Gramlich each had three hits in the victory. Taylor Schury hit a first inning home run. All 10 Sonic players had at least one hit in the offensive explosion.

The U14 Sonic will host the Rosetown Angels for a double header on Tuesday, July 13 at the Swift Current Recreation Complex. Game times are 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The Sonic wrap up a busy week at the Moose Jaw Ice tournament July 16-18.
