An early taste of summer weather rolled into Saskatchewan on Monday, with Environment Canada reporting 19 new daily maximum temperature records.
Swift Current set the lone new high temperature record in the Southwest on May 17, with the temperature rising to 31.2 Celsius. The new record broke the former mark of 30.7 Celsius set in 2006, and it stands as the warmest May 17 since records have been kept dating back to 1885.

The summer-like weather will be short-lived, as some much needed precipitation is forecast for Thursday through Saturday, and overnight lows on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday could reach the freezing mark.
