A large SaskPower building is currently making the move from Swift Current to Assiniboia where it will be utilized by SaskPower crews in Assiniboia.
Swift Current Light and Power had a temporary power outage to allow the building to be safely negotiated through narrow City streets. The move is also being coordinated with CP Rail, CN Rail plus SaskPower.
Neufeld Building Movers is utilizing two spotter vehicles and will be stopping traffic where necessary to safely complete the move.
The move is underway today and will be completed on Thursday.
SaskPower notes that the moving of the building will save $2.8 million instead of requiring a new facility to be constructed.
