The Swift Current Tarpon Energy Atom AA Broncos went out on a winning note on Thursday. They defeated the host Estevan Bruins 4-2 to sweep the best-of-three South East Hockey League semi-final series as Hockey Canada announced that the season was cancelled due to growing health and safety concerns over COVID-19.

Kasey Gleim had a memorable final game of the season as he scored three goals in the third period to lift the Broncos to the win. Matty Schmiess assisted on all three goals and Tysen Kobley picked up a pair of assists.

Kadyn Olfert also scored while Laynee Rondeau, Jaxson Squires, and Manning Unger all added assists. Kaleigha Irwin earned the win in goal.

The Atom Broncos had finished atop the six-team league with a 19-1-0 record in the regular season. They would have faced either the third-place Yorkton Terriers (12-8-0) or the second-place Weyburn Wings (12-7-1) in the championship series. Yorkton was leading the series after an overtime win on March 7.
