The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires will put their season on the line on Thursday after another lopsided road loss in Regina on Monday.
The eighth seeded Legionnaires lost 7-1 to the Pat Canadians in game three of the best-of-five series to fall behind 2-1 in the opening round of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League playoffs.
Riley Dekowny scored the lone goal with assists from Maguire Scheidt and Jaxon Martens with 4:56 remaining in regulation to spoil the shutout bid.
Cal Caragata led the Pat Canadians with two goals and three assists, while rookie Kyren Gronick followed with a goal and four assists. Logan Hammett, Josh Ramanyk, Ayden Third, and Alex Liskowich also scored for the Pat Canadians, who have outscored the Legionnaires 13-1 in two post-season games in Regina. Drayden Ramage made 21 saves in the win for Regina.
Jacob Herman took the loss after allowing three goals on seven shots over 8:36. Justin Dueck worked the final 51:24 and allowed four goals on 27 shots.
Game four will be Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Fairview West Arena in Swift Current. Game five, if necessary, would be Friday back in Regina.
