The Swift Current Bantam AA Wildcats push to take over to spot in the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League remains on track after a 5-4 win over the first-place Regina Rebels on Wednesday.
One week after losing 4-1 in Regina, the host Wildcats led 2-1 after two periods before the teams combined for six goals in the final frame.
Sadie Keller led the Wildcats with two goals and two assists, while Jerzey Watteyne also scored twice and Paisley Arntsen added a goal and an assist.
Brooke Archer earned the win in goal with 19 saves and picked up an assist on the opening goal. Calla Kampen registered a pair of assists, while Tess Bakus added a single helper.
Bailey McMaster, Kyra Anderson, Kayla Semchuk, and Nyah Lang replied for the Rebels, while Emily Carson took the loss as the Wildcats fired 30 shots on net.
The Wildcats climbed into second place with a 9-2-2 record, only one point back of Regina with three games in hand.
The Wildcats will visit the Warman Wildcats (1-9-3) on Friday and Saturday in their final games of 2019.
