Former Swift Current Broncos netminder Joel Hofer was one of four goaltenders invited to Canada’s National Junior Team Sport Chek Selection Camp on Monday.
The 19-year-old currently leads the Western Hockey League with 16 wins and a 1.92 goals against average. He is second with a 0.935 save percentage.
The Broncos traded the Winnipeg product to the Portland Winterhawks prior to last season’s trade deadline in exchange for six draft picks, including first round selections in 2019 and 2021.
The selection camp will take place in Oakville, ON from Dec. 9-12.
The 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship will take place in Ostrava and Trinec, Czech Republic, Dec. 26-Jan. 5.
