Cabri’s Shaun Meachem had an unbeaten weekend at the Saskatchewan Men’s Curling Tour stop in Saskatoon at the Nutana Curling Club over the weekend.
Meachem was joined by lead Jared Latos, second Brayden Stewart, third Brady Scharback on a team that is based out of the Nutana Curling Club. They are coached by Swift Current’s Jeff Chambers.
Meachem advanced to the playoffs with three straight wins in the A Event. They began their weekend with a 7-6 win over Saskatoon’s Rylan Kleiter on Friday evening.
The Meachem rink added an 8-2 win over Saskatoon’s Brady Kendal on Saturday morning and they closed out the A Event with a 6-0 win over Lashburn’s Tyson Armstrong in the afternoon.
Meachem began the eight-team Championship Event with a 9-1 win over Saskatoon’s Daymond Bernath on Sunday morning. They added a 5-3 win over Kleiter in the semi-final.
Meachem met Estevan’s Brent Gedak in the final and won 5-1 to cap an unbeaten weekend. After two scoreless opening ends, Meachem scored two in the third, stole a single in the fourth and then stole two more in the fifth end to open up a 5-0 lead.
The win also gave Team Meachem an automatic berth into the Provincial Tankard.
