The Swift Current Broncos made another trade on Thursday to add to their forward ranks. The Broncos acquired Raphael Pelletier from the Edmonton Oil Kings for a 2020 fourth round pick in the WHL Bantam Draft.
Pelletier was a third round pick by the Oil Kings in 2017 and suited up for five games in the 2017-18 season. The Legal, Alberta product played for the Northern Alberta Xtreme Midget Prep team last season and registered nine goals and 17 assists in only 16 CSSHL games. He added two goals and two assists in five post-season games while helping the Xtreme win the Midget Prep Division championship.
The 5’10’’, 2002-born forward has won a championship in each of the past three seasons, previously winning a league title with the Fort Saskatchewan Bantam AA Rangers in 2017 and the Elite 15’s CSSHL title with the Xtreme in 2018.
The Broncos will be back at home on Friday to host the Medicine Hat Tigers.
