The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires lost both road games to open the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League regular season over the weekend.
Saturday, the Legionnaires allowed the first four goals in a 5-2 loss to the host Tisdale Trojans.
The Legionnaires eventually got power play goals from Spencer Bell and Eric Robbie. Cash Arntsen, Riley Dekowny, Logan Linklater, and Maguire Scheidt all picked up assists.
Jacob Herman took the loss with 26 saves on 31 shots.
Wymark’s Keagon Little scored the opening goal for the Trojans, which was assisted by Swift Current’s Noah Wills.
Sunday, the Legionnaires were blanked 5-0 by the host Prince Albert Mintos when Joel Favreau turned aside all 25 shots he faced.
Swift Current Broncos prospect Dawson Springer led the Mintos with two goals and one assist.
Justin Dueck took the loss with 25 saves on 30 shots.
The Legionnaires have two games in the Warman Showcase this weekend. They face the Battlefords Stars in Friday at 2:30 p.m. and the Trojans again on Sunday at 1 p.m.
