Saskatchewan sizzled in unseasonal hot temperatures on September 16, with a total of 13 new record highs set on Monday.
Swift Current established a new record of 32.4 Celsius, eclipsing the former mark of 32.2 Celsius set in 1920. It also stands as the hottest September 16 since weather records have been kept dating back to 1885.
Cypress Hills climbed to 28.4 Celsius to edge the previous record of 27.5 set in 2009. However Monday’s high is the hottest September 16 in the Cypress Hills among weather records since 1918.
Moose Jaw reached a provincial high of 33.6 Celsius to break their former mark to 32.9 Celsius established in 1979.
