Swift Current’s Jacob Herman has been listed by the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League.
The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires goaltender had previously practiced with the Swift Current Broncos while Joel Hofer was at camp with the St. Louis Blues. He practiced with the Broncos for two weeks and dressed in two games. He also was the emergency back-up for the Tri-City Americans when they visited the Broncos on November 14.
The 6’1’’ goaltender currently boasts an 11-4 record with a .900 save percentage, and a 2.74 goals against average with two shutouts during his rookie season in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League.
Herman was undrafted in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft after leading the Swift Current Kabos Broncos to a league and provincial title. He led the South Saskatchewan Midget AA Hockey League in GAA last season with the Swift Current Abbey Resources Broncos.
The Cougars are led by first-year General Manager Mark Lamb, who was the Head Coach and General Manager of the Swift Current Broncos for seven seasons. Legionnaires’ Head Coach Darren Evjen was an assistant under Lamb with the Broncos and Lamb’s son, Hunter, played the three previous seasons with the Legionnaires.
