Former Swift Current Bronco Aleksi Heponiemi scored in a 5-0 win over Kazakhstan at the 2019 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship in Victoria on Thursday.
Heponiemi scored Finland’s final goal as he finished with three shots on goal, a plus-two rating, and 20:41 of ice time.
Finland improved to 1-1 after losing their opening game 2-1 to Sweden
Finland will face Slovakia on Saturday in their third of four round robin games. They will also battle the Americans on New Years Eve.
