The Swift Current Broncos made a move to bolster their forward depth on Monday when they signed 19-year-old forward Ian Briscoe to a WHL Standard Player Agreement.
The Winnipeg native played in both the Western Hockey League and Manitoba Junior Hockey League last season, splitting time with the Seattle Thunderbirds and Dauphin Kings. The 5’10”, 172 lb forward recorded three assists in 25 contests for the T-Birds while registering 15 points (6g-9a) in 17 games for the Kings.
Briscoe was originally selected by the T-Birds in the fifth round, 104th overall, in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft and has skated in 45 career regular season WHL games, all while with Seattle.
The Broncos will visit the WHL leading Prince Albert Raiders on Friday.
