Midget AA Broncos upend visiting Bruins

The Swift Current Abbey Resources Broncos got goals from five different skaters to defeat one of the teams ahead of them in the South Saskatchewan Midget AA Hockey League Saturday.

The host Broncos got goals from Nathan McInnis, Riley Skarbon, Matthew Christianson, Quinn Patenaude, and Ryland Hornung to defeat the Estevan Bruins 5-3. They trailed 3-2 in the third period before scoring three unanswered goals.

Rhett Evjen picked up a pair of assists, followed by singles from John Priela and Patenaude.

Jacob Herman earned the win with 20 saves to improve to 9-4-1.

The Broncos improved to 16-7-4-2, while Estevan dropped to 20-9-2-0. The Broncos will conclude their month on Tuesday when they visit the Notre Dame Hounds.
