RCMP are seeking the assistance of the public in connection with six robberies at financial institutions across Southern Saskatchewan over the past 13 months.
Dating back to May 2016, RCMP have investigated six bank robberies and two attempted robberies. Investigators have noted a series of similarities in these eight incidents. The suspect is consistently described as an adult male, aged 40 to 50 years, with a heavy set or stocky build and 5’5’’ to 5’8’’ tall.
This individual has worn dark balaclavas or toques, gloves, a grey hooded sweater, a tan coat, an orange hoodie with an Under Armour logo on the front, a camouflage or dark coat.
Potential vehicles involved during these robberies include a grey van, a red SUV, plus an older model dark coloured Chevrolet extended cab truck, possibly a Silverado model.
Incidents occurred during the following dates and locations:
Pangman – Friday, May 13, 2016 (11:30 a.m.)
One lone male entered the bank and demanded cash. He fled in a grey van in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect is described as: an adult male Heavy set/stocky 5’5” tall. Wearing a grey hoodie.
Hodgeville – Friday June 24, 2016 (11 a.m.)
A male entered the bank with a firearm and demanded money. He fled the scene in a red or burgundy Chevrolet Equinox with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect is described as: an adult male, 5’6, stocky wearing a camouflage jacket and balaclava.
Pangman – Wednesday, January 4 (10:20 a.m.)
A lone male entered the bank and demanded cash. He fled in an unknown direction, possibly in a red SUV, with an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapons were involved in the incident.
The suspect is described as: an adult male, Heavy set/stocky 5’7” tall, wearing a tan coat, dark balaclava.
Pangman – Monday, February 6 (10:20 a.m.)
A stocky male with a balaclava attempted to get into the bank, however he was locked out by the staff.
The suspect is described as: an adult male, stocky, wearing a balaclava, jeans, with a grey or tan hoodie. No vehicle description was provided.
Holdfast – Friday, March 10 (1:15 p.m.)
A lone male entered the bank and demanded cash. He fled in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of cash. He left in an older dark coloured Chevrolet extended cab truck, possibly with another person.
The suspect is described as: an adult male, Heavy set/stocky, wearing an orange hoodie with an Under Armour logo, a dark balaclava and dark gloves.
Glentworth – Friday, May 17 (9:45 a.m.)
A lone male entered the bank and demanded cash. He left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash heading south on Main Street.
The suspect is described as: an adult male, heavy set/stocky, unshaven, 5’8” tall, 40-50 years old, wearing a black toque and camouflage jacket.
Glentworth – Monday, June 5 (11:10 a.m.)
A lone male attempted to enter the bank, however he was locked out by staff.
The suspect is described as: an adult male: 5’5-5’7, heavy set, wearing an orange sweater with reflective striping, a black toque and jeans. No vehicle description was provided.
Central Butte – Tuesday, June 13 (1:40 p.m.)
A lone male entered the bank and demanded cash. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a dark coloured 2003-2007 Chevrolet Silverado.
The suspect is described as: an adult male, heavy set/stocky, 40-50 years old, deep voice, wearing a dark jacket and dark balaclava.
No people have been physically injured during these eight incidents.
The various local RCMP detachments along with the General Investigation Section continues to investigate these robberies and their similarities.
