Swift Current’s Griffin Wilson placed fourth amongst 19 competitors in the Juvenile Boys Division at the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour Golf Saskatchewan OOM Series stop in Prince Albert over the weekend.
The 16-year-old golfer shot a 79 on day one at Cooke Municipal Golf Course to sit seven shots back of the lead. He improved on day two for a 74 to finish only two shots behind the leaders, Estevan’s Jace Carlisle (76-75-151) and Reegan Robinson (74-77-151).
Eastend’s Kirk Humphrey tied for ninth in the Junior Boys Division. He shot an 80 on day one and then trimmed five strokes for a day-two 75 to finish in a three-way tie for ninth. Yorkton’s Kade Johnson won the tournament by seven strokes with rounds of 67 and 73.
The MJT Golf Saskatchewan OOM tour is in Saskatchewan again on June 3-4 for at the Lloydminster Golf and Country Club, followed by a stop at the Chinook Golf Course in Swift Current on July 1-2.
