The Swift Current Comp. Colts and Ardens track and field team had some dominating individual performances at the SCCHS Invitational Track and Field Meet on Saturday.
Grade 10 Kalea Sauder easily won the Junior Girls 80 Metre Hurdles in 12.46 seconds. She added a win in the 100 Metres in 12.99 seconds. Sauder got a third event win in Long Jump with a 4.98-metre jump. She also placed second in High Jump at 1.45 metres.
Brielle Wall continued a strong start to the season with a win in the Midget Girls 80 Metre Hurdles in 13.12 seconds. She easily won High Jump when she cleared the bar at 1.55 metres. Wall was also second in Long Jump with a 4.56-metre jump.
Eric Wiebe added a third win in hurdles when he topped the Senior Boys 100 Metre Hurdles in 15.91 seconds.
Dalton Chalk picked up a win in the Junior Boys 100 Metres in 11.75 seconds, followed by teammate Ryan Lee in second in 12.12 seconds. Chalk added a win in the Junior Boys 200 Metres in 24.21 seconds. Chalk also won the 400 metres in 55.57 seconds.
Ethan Kurtz earned a win in the Midget Boys 400 Metres in 59.12 seconds. Maverick Mitchell was right behind him in second in 59.97 seconds. Kurtz also won the 800 Metres in 2:25, while Mitchell was second in 2:29. Kurtz added a third-place finish in the 1,500 Metres in 5:09.6.
Jenna McDonald earned a win in the Junior Girls 400 Metres in 1:05.85. She also raced to a second-place finish in the Junior Girls 100 Metre Dash in 13.18 seconds. She got a second win in Shot Put with a 7.48-metre effort.
Jannae Carlson won the Midget Girls 400 Metres in 1:08.55. She also placed third in the Midget Girls 100 Metres in 13.9 seconds. Carlson added a second-place finish in the 800 Metres in 2:41.1.
Kyle Krause added a win in the Midget Boys Discus with a 37.65-metre throw, over seven metres ahead of the next best effort. Krause was also second in Shot Put with an 11.27-metre throw.
The Colts swept the top three spots in Junior Boys Long Jump. Micah Bruinsma (5.57 metres), Dustyn Haugan (5.35 metres), Ryan Lee (5.19 metres) led the Colts in the event.
Amanda Thoreson won the Junior Girls Triple Jump with a 9.21-metre showing. Haugen added a win in Triple Jump at 11.22 metres. Haugan also placed second in Junior Boys High Jump when he cleared the bar at 1.6 metres.
Mikayla Swallow got a win in the Senior Girls Long Jump when she sailed 4.73 metres.
Swallow placed second in the Senior Girls 100 Metre Dash in 13.15 seconds. She was also third in Discus with a 27.37-metre throw.
Reagan Martin won the Quad with 2,229 points, ahead of teammate Branden Lemay with 2,120 points in the 10-man field.
Ally Janzen added a second-place finish in the Junior Girls 200 Metres in 29.44 seconds. She was also second in Junior Girls Triple Jump at 9.07 metres.
Cole Meyer won silver in Junior Boys Javelin with a 32.42-metre throw.
Theo Lautsch placed second in Junior Boys 1,500 Metres in 5:05.0. He also picked up a third-place finish in the 800 Metres in 2:21.
Emily Reid was second in Midget Girls Shot Put with 9.4-metre throw.
Sarah Watson placed second in Senior Girls High Jump with a 1.4-metre top jump. She was also second in Triple Jump at 9.78 metres.
Tyson Coward added a second-place finish in Midget Boys Long Jump with a 4.86-metre effort.
Wesley Aibi placed third in the Senior Boys 100 Metres in 11.22 seconds. Aibi was also third in the Senior Boys 200 Metres in 23.41 seconds.
Jordan Lamontagne was third in the Midget Boys 200 Metres in 25.98 seconds.
Ashley McDonald added a third-place finish in the Midget Girls 80 Metre Hurdles in 14.22 seconds. She was third in Long Jump with a 4.48-metre jump.
Dylan Pierce finished third in the Midget Boys 3,000 Metres in 11:36.32.
The Ardens also picked up a pair of wins in the 4×100 Metre Relay. The Midget Girls team won in 56.28 seconds and the Senior Girls won in 53.05 seconds. The Colts placed second in Midget Boys in 50.8 seconds and in Senior Boys in 47.85 seconds.
