Wildcats returning to league final

The Swift Current Innovation Federal Credit Union Wildcats are heading back to the league final after sweeping the Regina Rebels. 

The Wildcats scored the opening three goals to defeat the host Regina Rebels 3-2 in game two of the Saskatchewan Female U18 AAA Hockey League semi-final series. 

The Wildcats will now meet the first-place Battlefords Sharks (25-1-3-1) in the championship series. 

The Wildcats opened the scoring with power play goals in the first period from Ella Schenher and Charlize Hillmer. Jalaa Moore Jagow added a goal 1:58 into the period to complete a three-point evening. Stevie Christiaens and Madden Rublee picked up assists on the even strength goal. 

Regina replied with goals from Emma Sveinbjornson and Ally Stusrud. 

Emilee Klapak made 23 saves in the win to improve to 2-0 in the post-season. Morgan Robertson took the loss with 26 saves. 

Schenher is now leading the league with seven playoff assists and with nine points in four games. Moore Jagow is second with eight points.
