The Swift Current Broncos used a four-goal third period to hand the visiting Saskatoon Blades their first loss of the season on Friday.
Rylan Gould compiled five points and linemate Ty Coupland had a hat trick in a 6-3 win over the Blades.
The Broncos took the lead with a shorthanded goal from Gould 7:28 into regulation. The Blades tied the game with a Cooper Williams goal later in the opening period.
The Broncos restored the lead 5:20 into the second period when Connor Dale scored his first goal as a Bronco with a top corner shot from the slot. William James tied the game for the Blades again when he found a rebound and scored with 6:49 remaining in the second period.
The Broncos were on the front foot for much of the final frame after failing to score a third-period goal in their first four games. Coupland gave the Broncos a third lead, but Rowan Calvert tied the game 2:36 later with a power play goal. Coupland replied again for the Broncos with a rebound goal and then Gould added a power play goal before Coupland scored into an empty net to complete the hat trick.
Reid Dyck earned his first win of the season with 29 saves. Evan Gardner took the loss with 25 saves on 30 shots.
The Broncos improved to 2-3-0-0, while Saskatoon fell to 4-1-0-0.
The Broncos will visit the Brandon Wheat Kings on Saturday.
