“I take immense pride in our community,” Deg stated. “We exemplify inclusivity, proactivity, and strong cooperation with our neighbors. I am eager to rejoin the council and enhance these core values.”

During his previous term, Bruce actively contributed to various committees, including the Chamber of Commerce, Elmwood Golf Club, Regional Library and Chinook Library Board, Swift Current Creek Watershed Stewards, and Dories House. His dedication to community service has always been a hallmark of his involvement in Swift Current.

Before his election in 2016, Bruce held significant roles in health governance, serving as Governance Board Member and Chairperson of the Rolling Hills Health District from 1995 to 2002, followed by his tenure on the Cypress Health Region board from 2002 to 2009. He has also been a member of the Swift Current 57’s Baseball Club’s Board of Governors and volunteer since 2009, and most recently helped as a volunteer in the planning and delivery of the 2023 National Mixed Curling championship.

As Swift Current continues to grow, Bruce is enthusiastic about the opportunities ahead. He is committed to fostering strong partnerships within the community and exploring new regional initiatives, including the Southwest Facility Foundation’s recent emergence.
