The Swift Current Broncos took the Western Hockey League leading Saskatoon Blades to overtime on Sunday before losing 3-2.
Fraser Minten scored his second goal of the game midway through overtime for the host Blades, who were playing their third game in as many days.
Conor Geekie scored both goals for the Broncos as their losing streak hit four games. Reid Dyck took the loss with 31 saves.
Austin Elliot made 20 saves for the Blades, who improved to 33-9-2-3, six points ahead of any other team in the WHL.
The Broncos finished zero-for-three on the power play, while the Blades got a power play goal from Easton Armstrong during a one-for-two performance on the man-advantage.
The Broncos remained sixth in the Eastern Conference with a 22-18-3-2 record. They are now 1-3 in games decided in overtime.
The Broncos will host the seventh-place Lethbridge Hurricanes on Wednesday. The Broncos have a 2-4-0-0 record in the season series.
