The Swift Current Legionnaires were eliminated from the Circle K Classic in Calgary with a 6-3 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Friday morning. They led 2-0 before allowing four straight goals. The Legionnaires got within one goal in the third period before the Blues scored twice into an empty net.
Berney Weston made 17 saves in the loss. Theo McGuire, Cam Perlinger, and Jace Egland all scored for Swift Current. Brendan Quinn-Lagria had two assists, while Zach Reeder added a single.
Jackson Machon notched a hat trick for St. Louis, while Nicholas Jones, David Vitt, and Ben Winkelmann also scored. Maksom Bely made 16 saves for the Blues.
The Legionnaires finished with one win and three losses in Calgary. They will return to league action on Jan. 8 when they host the Warman Wildcats.
