The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires got into the win column with a 2-1 overtime victory over the host Saskatoon Blazers on Wednesday.
Local Parker Rondeau was the overtime hero when he scored on a breakaway midway through the extra frame. Veteran Eric Hoiness had scored on the power play in the third period to force overtime. Berney Weston earned the win with 35 saves, including a pair of game-saving stops in overtime.
Cole Reschny scored for the Blazers. Eric Kahl took the loss with 24 saves.The Legionnaires (1-2-0-1) will visit the Estevan Bruins (1-3-0-0) this weekend.
