The host Swift Current 15U AAA 57’s won once in three attempts at Provincials on July 29-31.
The 57’s got a standout performance from Kyrell Adair to defeat the Saskatoon Astros 6-2 on day one. Adair held the Astros to six hits, one walk, and two runs while striking out six over six innings. He also hit a home run, stole a base, and scored another run to lead the 57’s to the win.
The 57’s led 1-0 and 3-1 before scoring three runs in the seventh inning to help seal the win. Aidan Robinson hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning. Ty Switzer doubled, stole a base, and had one run batted in. Wesley Olson doubled, reached twice on errors, stole a base, and scored two runs.
Jase Johnson pitched a perfect seventh inning to close out the win.
The 57’s dropped their second game 11-6 to the Moose Jaw Canucks after allowing six runs in the seventh inning.
Olson led the 57’s with a home run, a single, two runs scored, and two RBIs. Mason Fauser doubled, singled, and chipped in one RBI. Taylor Mclaren singled twice and stole a base. Adair doubled, scored twice, and brought one run around to score. Switzer doubled and picked up one RBI. Robinson singled, stole a base, and scored.
The 57’s season came to an end in a 15-10 loss to the Saskatoon Giants. The Giants scored in six of seven innings, including a five-run sixth inning that was the difference as they knocked out 18 hits and took advantage of six Swift Current errors.
Leadoff man Aiden Kilshaw led the 57s with two hits, three stolen bases, two runs scored, and one RBI. Fauser singled twice, walked, stole a base, scored twice, and had one RBI.
Adair singled, reached on an error, stole three bases, scored twice, and had one RBI. Switzer tripled, walked, was hit by a pitch, scored, and added one RBI. Hudson Unger doubled, was hit by a pitch, reached on an error, stole a base, scored, and had one RBI.
