Southwest competitors find pay window at Kinsmen Rodeo

The Southwest hit double digits for number of competitors to find the money at Kinsmen Rodeo in North Battleford on April 29 – May 1.

Mankota’s Karlie Cowie had the fastest time in Ladies Barrel Racing in 12.74 seconds for a $1,159 payday at the Canada Cowboys Association event. Eastend’s Haley Glasrud was seventh in 13.06 seconds for $252.

Cowie also placed second in the bonus round in 12.83 seconds for $200.

Maple Creek’s Adam Gilchrist and Val Marie’s Riley Hayes placed second in Team Roping in 5.7 seconds for $1,598. Waldeck’s Scott McLeod and Swift Current’s Chad Feil tied for fifth in 6.1 seconds for $466.

Scott McLeod and Feil won the bonus round in 5.9 seconds for $800. Kyle’s Jesse Hantelman and Kobe Kmita (Weyburn) were second in the bonus round in 6.4 seconds for $400.

Waldeck’s Tyce McLeod placed second in Tie Down Roping in 14.3 seconds for $513. Tuftin McLeod was close behind in fourth in 15.7 seconds for $171. Kmita won the event in 10.3 seconds.

Maple Creek’s William Beierbach placed fourth in Steer Wrestling in 12.3 seconds for $302. Kal Klovansky (Edgeley) took top spot in 5.4 seconds.

The CCA will return to the Southwest for the Dean Anthony Memorial Rodeo on May 21-22.
